Final Major Project (BA)

This project was thought simultaneously to another project, led by friend in Nurse school, about Alzheimer. Her final Dissertation made me think about how design could possibly help in the social area. That’s why I moved this project in that direction: I wanted to make perception and visual design a valuable tool to use for other purposes.

The outcome of this project, is a booklet for caregivers who work in the daily facilities for people who suffer from Alzheimer. Memory Training, is self-explanatory: it’s a game, a memory game. The caregiver will play the game with the patient associating a sticker with a real object in the room, just to help remember their function through simple images.

The symbols on the stickers are designed with the Gestalt rules, and they do not absolutely match anything real. The forms and shapes are free of any specific significance. Interpretation and inspiration are the key.
